What’s the ideal summer event for CoHoots who love bicycling, teamwork, photography, mysteries, and southtown?
A Bicycle Photo Scavenger Hunt!
Our Sustainability Action Team designed the event and two eager teams accepted the challenge.
After an orientation, teams had an hour to strategize and saddle up. Then it was “Get ready…get set…go!!!” for a one-hour trek around southtown.
Teams had some required stops at neighbors’ homes in the area.
Teams also earned bonus points for photos from a list of options–like white picket fence, bus stop, front yard garden, pink flamingos (not the real thing–just the lawn ornaments), purple dinosaurs and so on.
A “wild card” bonus section asked teams to photograph some free-form categories, like “something special about southtown.”
Teams returned to CoHo and points were tallied. The two team scores were very, very close. How to break the tie?
After a potluck supper, CoHoots saw slides of the teams’ work. Via applause, the audience selected winners for the three free-form topics.
CoHoots are already sharing ideas for the next scavenger hunt. One request–turn the heat down a bit (it was 90 degrees and sunny).
